Lakes Grammar – An Anglican School contracted with Alinta about five years ago to run a uniform shop on behalf of the school and to manufacture or procure all our uniform items. Alinta operate in a very professional manner. The staff who run the shop on the school site are personable and helpful and will go out of their way to assist parents if that is needed. The owners of Alinta consult with me about possible new additions to the uniform or improved items or fabrics. Prices are very reasonable and rises only occur when suppliers’ prices force them up. Any concerns raised by myself or by parents are immediately followed up. It is a relief not to have to worry about running a uniform shop and to leave it in the hands of professionals.

Growing from small to big has its complications. One of the biggest is uniform. How do you continue to manage this important aspect of a school without overtaxing the volunteer workforce and keeping a professional approach? Increasingly large sums of money pass hands; parents expect to have garments available and manufactured to a high standard; stock has to be accounted for and ordered as required without over-stocking or having too little available.

It was at this point that Alinta approached us about taking over the responsibilities from the College and setting up their own uniform shop at the College. We had been considering alternatives and this offer came at just the right time.

Alinta helped with the process of transferring the uniform from another provider to their providers. They ensured that our new uniform was closely aligned with the previous one. We didn’t want the uniform to change per se, we just wanted a more professional way of dealing with it.

Alinta made it easy. They took over a ll aspects of uniform. They used our space and set it up in a professional manner. They were generous with the left over stock from the previous provider. They negotiated with us every step of the way, including us in discussions about finances as well as colour design and fabric.

Since then we have established a strong working relationship with Alinta. Price rises, fabric changes and design concepts have all been matters for discussion and mutual agreement. The staff are friendly and professional. They are responsive to communications.

While no relationship is ever perfect, in the minefield that can be uniform, Alinta is a strong ally.
